SRM Diagnostics

Compaq manufacturing uses a version of SRM Firmware which includes built in diagnostic tools.

• Designed to exercise hardware.
• Somewhat multitasking.
• Good installation verification tool.
• Tests included:
  • 'memory' - starts memory exerciser
  • 'disks' - performs read testing on all SCSI and IDE hard disks
  • 'graphics' - tests VGA controller if console set to serial.
  • 'network' - tests network port.
  • 'dqtest' - performs read tests only on IDE hard drives.
